Nikki Gonnissen was born in Amsterdam in 1967. In 1993, along with Thomas Widdershoven, she founded Thonik, that became one of Holland’s most famous design studios. Apart from many projects for cultural institutions like the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Thonik did the visual identity and campaigns for the Dutch Socialist Party. Thonik had solo exhibitions in Shanghai, Venice, Tokyo, Paris and Kyoto. Their work is in the permanent collection of the SF MoMA, the Shanghai Art Museum and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Nikki is also a teacher for the master’s program at the Design Academy in Eindhoven.
