Taku Satoh was born in Tokyo in 1955. Initially joined an advertising agency Dentsu Inc., then established Taku Satoh Design Office in 1984, he started product development and packaging design for Nikka Pure Malt Whisky. He has dealt with graphic designs for "PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE", and the logos for the cultural institutions in Japan. His work is wide ranging, such as general direction of "Design Ah" which are TV programs on NHK educational channel and direction of 21_21 Design Sight with the designers who are well acquainted with the contemporary situation of design and the creative scene. In 2014, he was responsible, together with anthropologist Shinichi Takemura for the exhibition Kome: The Art of Rice.
